Texas Care Program
Barkley's Defiant Child & Teen
A family-centered behavioral program for children and teens who struggle with defiance, noncompliance, or family conflict. Caregivers learn proven, step-by-step behavior-management strategies — and, when clinically appropriate, youth and caregivers work on them together.
Ideal for: Children & adolescents + caregivers
Focus: Defiance, family conflict & behavior management
How It Works
A family-centered behavioral intervention
Caregiver Training
Parents and caregivers learn systematic, practical strategies for responding to defiant, oppositional, or noncompliant behavior.
Youth & Family Together
When clinically appropriate, the child or teen takes part alongside caregivers so everyone works from the same plan.
Step by Step
The program moves through attention, compliance, rewards, discipline, public behavior, school behavior, and follow-up.
The result is consistency: the same expectations and responses at home, at school, and in treatment.
